When undertaking Tree Root Radar Surveys the radar equipment is housed within a cart that is pushed around the area that is being scanned. This is a very quick and efficient way to collect the ground data as well as measuring the length of the scan lines using the calibrated measuring wheel linked to the back wheel of the cart. This set up works extremely well for scanning large areas such as lawns, driveways or car parks.
Recently however Arboraeration were asked to undertake a survey of piece of ground that was below a raised decking area with only 120cm of space above ground level to the bottom of the deck. After consultation with the manufacturers of the Tree Radar Unit we were able to set the unit up without the cart using a recalibrated measuring wheel.
