Going Greener – How we are managing our Carbon Footprint

At Arboraeration we are believers that trees are good, if you’re not convinced, some of the reasons why can be found here (https://arboraeration.com/tree-management/the-benefits-of-trees-in-urban-areas/)!

All of our services, from Airspading and Tree Radar Surveys through to Soil De-compaction and Tree Healthcare Packages are designed to encourage the retention and long term management of trees within the urban landscape. We understand the balance between the need to create spaces for people to live, work and play and the need for tree canopy cover, green spaces, and a sustainable urban forest.

What else are we doing?

As well as promoting the above ethos we also try to look at our operations as a whole and look for ways that we can manage our carbon footprint and impact on the world. Our vehicles and machinery are all fitted with euro 6 compliant engines, meaning that where we do have to use conventional fuels, they are being used in the cleanest and most efficient way.

The Root Barriers that we use are produced in the UK using recycled HPDE plastics that would otherwise have found its way into landfill!

In 2020 we made the move to stop using chemical fertilizers in our Tree Healthcare operations, instead we now use our own in house brewed compost tea that is made using fully organic materials.

Biochar is used as part of our Tree Healthcare Package as a way to improve soil structure and nutrient holding capacity and well as permanently fixing carbon into the soil, and not releasing it into the atmosphere.
